Character Profile: Jean Sullivan

General Description

Jean is the guildmaster of the Adventurer's Guild and personal teacher for both Aki and Piper! She uses her veteran knowledge to help them become better adventurers while helping her country and beyond. She will occasionally join the party and assist whenever there isn't anything major happening that would pull her away.

Fighting Style

Jean primarily fights using a large sword, that she can wield with one or both hands. Using the magic crystals on her coat, she can further enhance her strength to better handle her weapon. This can drain mana the longer she uses it, much like with Calvin and Fuya. She does know a few magic artes when her sword isn't enough, including some that aren't easily used by most wizards.

Inspiration

I would say that, in terms of Tales inspiration, Jean takes the fighting style of Veigue from Rebirth while having similar experience and wisdom like Raine from Symphonia. I would probably also say that I wanted to see more swordswomen who can hold their own and be a force to be reckoned with.

Story

Long ago, she and a couple friends became adventurers with their own dreams and desires. Although successful, Jean alone would continue working for the guild while they moved on. They still kept in touch, all things considered. One day, she and one of her friends, Kaku, went to visit Haru in a small village in Emira. When they got there, most of the village had been destroyed by bandits and the only casualty was Haru, who did everything she could to protect the people. This left them with her only daughter, Aki, to be cared for. Kaku would become her surrogate mother, while Jean would use what she earns from the guild to support them; and when Aki expressed interest in becoming an adventurer, Jean would become her teacher. She would also allow a young Piper to live with Aki as her new friend, in exchange for teaching her how to become an adventurer as well.

Jean decided to personally oversee the current Spirit Pilgrimage if it means helping her beloved students experience the world, though due to unforeseen circumstances, she ends up leaving them. Although she'll return, what was she called away for?

Wrap-Up

With this, that's all the main playable characters. I will probably do shorter profiles for non-playable characters later on. However, once I am done with this one side-project, I will resume work on this project.
