General Update + Piper Animation Sprites


It's been awhile since I've made any posts here. Things have been rather hectic since the last one; my family has been getting sick and I had to take care of them in various ways, I had gotten sick, we got COVID recently, my work schedule keeps putting me on days that take up too much, many things that just demotivate me from doing this. I've also been waiting to get enough sprites done for Piper before I can properly set up another demo, as at this point in time (with the battle system still going by the default setting) it wouldn't be good to have it just be Aki you play with; it should be with at least two characters. I'm also experimenting with a possible "Skill" system where characters can learn artes or general skills through either gear, titles or whatever is feasible. Eventually, I will start doing the main game as I get everyone closer to having enough battle animations to work with.

Battle Sprites

Speaking of which, Piper has all but one of the general animations that every character should have. After which, I will commission a few different attack animations that can be used for artes, similar to Aki (who I will try to get at least one or two new artes using what I already have), so she can be a proper party member for the demo. These are all I have so far (not counting single frame ones):

      

Demo Time

With how much time it takes for these to be made, I estimate that the next demo won't be ready until around the start of next year. As my time will loosen up as it gets close to then, I will put in time to work out what will actually be in the demo as far as enemies go, available skills/artes, and I'll even try to throw in some character stuff just so it isn't just like the first demo where nothing even happens. I might even finish making that Turtlez NPC I started on a while ago. Until then, I'll see about what kind of post I can think up of for next time so that this doesn't sit and take up space.
