Arena Demo - Update


I have updated the Arena Demo to reflect some of the changes/additions I mentioned before. This will require a fresh save, given what I'm about to go over, as I'm sure some things will break or not work properly under the old build. So, let's breakdown what the update brings.

New Party Member

William Damaris becomes available to you after Aki and Piper reach level 5. An event will play out after whatever battle you took part in (that caused you to level up) and he will join you afterwards. He will come with a couple buff artes (that also double as selective ailment removers), a Silence arte, an offensive arte, and of course, Copy. Copy will allow him to use an enemy magic arte if the last enemy to act did so. I will most likely change it to where he applies a state onto an enemy so it's more reactionary, but only during the turn it's used. For now, it is based on last enemy to act, in which William will act last.

Enemy Stat Tuning

I tweaked some of the enemy stats to try and make sure they're better balanced, even on the higher levels and (under the assumption of) you having the best gear allowed.

Arte Tuning

I made some minor changes to pre-existing artes for balance, plus the fact you will end up with a third party member this time. All offensive base artes will have a 1-turn cooldown, while intermediate artes have a cooldown of 2-turns. I may extend this to support artes later.

Title System

Instead of the kind of titles I had before, I will be using the plugin that would allow for changing classes. This is something I'll be doing a lot of work on while I'm doing the main story, like if I want to have 5 unlockable abilities with each class or if 3 is enough. For the sake of the demo, the costs are at least accessible with enough battles.

New Passive Skills

I have added a few new skills, one of which is needed for Aki's Altered Arte, while another (Action Plus) allows for both Aki and Piper (when learned) to perform an additional action each turn. This will be another thing I'll be experimenting with as while I want everyone to use this kind of passive skill, I have to see if anything can be done to take into account that each action is done back to back once the character begins their turn.

Monster Book

The Monster Book will be available to use. Like with the Options menu, it will see a lot of work done so the information and detail is more refined than what is currently there.

Other

General stability and fixes to make sure it is presentable. I may provide fixes based on feedback, but otherwise this will be it until the next update; as whatever work is done on the main game will effectively be applied to the next demo update.
