Map Design: Forest Ruins - Battle Maps
While I do what I can to design the dungeon so that it has a good length and some meaningful puzzles, I also took time to design the first two battle maps. The first image below is for areas with a visible water channel. These ruins were near a river, and part of it flows through here. The second image is for other areas without the water channel.
Below are mock-ups of them when in a battle against the enemies there. I have yet to insert their animations or give them abilities. That will come later after I get the dungeon working.
Once I get the dungeon set up, I will properly program the enemies. I also have a third battle map I need to make for when I get to the main boss fight of the dungeon as well. Otherwise, that's about it in terms of an update this week.
P.S.
I learned what happens when you hold down the Shift key when making maps. They actually paste tiles in exact squares, so that will help me with making maps without needing to juggle layers as much.
