Prologue Demo Update #4
This is a somewhat small update, as there hasn't been any comments on any bugs or issues that needed to be addressed.
Battle System Changes
- Using the AttackChain plugin from triacontane, there is now a counter present for whenever either party maintains a set number of hits without interruption or missing. From what the plugin has, I might be able to do more with it like increase damage the longer the chain goes on or even chain attacks; but for now it serves to show how many hits you've done, and how much damage was done.
Extended Story Scenario
- I decided to extend the bonus story scenario to include what I had done before I focused on other things, and what I recently was able to finish over the last few days. There is a point where you will know where I ended up stopping without adding a couple essential elements (animation and a boss fight). Also, there is a whole scene missing in-between that and the one I've done, due to a lack of suitable tilesets. That scene has dialogue prepped, I would need to design a map and set up the event proper. If I do find what I need, I will include it in a later update.
The extension was done to better provide incentive to unlocking it to begin with. More battles, story, and then some. I also intend to use it as a base for proper playtesting, so I will eventually figure out the best ways to include debug options and the like. Again, no one is obligated to take part in it.
Action Prompt Changes
- Added event commands to remove the the action prompts when talking to the spirits in the rooms Momo and Kiki were in.
- Added a small shortcut in the East Wing Puzzle Room where you can jump down from the ledge.
Save Files Added
- As with the previous version, I included a few save files for if you just want to get into it.
* Slot 1 is just after the introduction sequence.
* Slot 2 is before the main boss fights in the ruins.
* Slot 3 is before the train ride, all quests cleared.
* Slot 4 is after you first get on the train and after the cutscene that plays.
* Slot 5 is before the last sequence of events involving the pirates.
If you wish to use your older saves, it is advised you make backups of the originals and replace the new ones. In the future, I'll move these saves to the bottom-most slots in the menu.
Other Fixes
- Fixed an issue where the Blue Save Points didn't enable the Save command in the main menu like the green ones.
- Fixed an issue where the Blue Save Points didn't fully heal the party after first use.
Things to Address
- At some point, one of the plugin updates made it so that the target name for enemies appears when they're being attacked. I'm hoping to look into fixing that since they shouldn't be popping up during an attack.
- The boss fight in the bonus scenario will be done once more animations are obtained; at the same time, the cutscene will be better polished while working on the event itself.
- I'll think of changing the button command for using the Sorcerer's Ring. I also need to consider making use of controller prompts, but that will require understanding how that can work.
