Progress Report: Story and Feedback

First week into the year, and I've made some progress in the story. While I don't plan to get too heavy in animations until later, I felt like I had enough time to include them for one of the scenes that was short enough that I could include them. Plus, they gave me an incentive to download some reference sheets to help with creating poses or expressions better.

Of course, I will have to create whole sprites for characters coming up in the current scenario. I can set up placeholder enemies and skills for when I get working sprites for them, but it's just one of those things that will be touched up on overtime. Speaking of, based on what feedback I have and just from my own observations, there will be some touch-ups to some things.

Added Tutorials

At least one tutorial I'm going to include in a later update involves the titles and how they can grand learnable abilities and bonus stats. Even though I'm still on the fence on whether to keep this current system with the passive skills. Speaking of...

Adjusting Passive Skill Effects Costs

I will be looking into adjusting the effects of certain skills and changing their costs accordingly to account for what amount of SP each character has.

Story Changes

Now, a lot of this can be subjective, but there are some things within the story I can improve on if it can make for a more effective scene. What I do is based on what I've experienced with media, and what I thought worked.  Being this early in the story, the most I'll be doing is fixing grammar and repetitive lines, but there will be some other changes or additions that might help convey what I want to happen or improve it.

Other Fixes

There are bound to be other things that need to be fixed up related to gameplay, and some already addressed (like one room having no backdrop during battle, or the Bee not showing up in the Monster Book), but others may require more digging.

With luck, I should have it all updated in a couple weeks. I may even throw in a little something to allow progress past the end point and preview part of the story past that. Otherwise, I await any further feedback that might help with development down the line.
